I turned off the TV this week, and picked up a book. Well, six books. (yeah..) My world was being saturated with noise and I needed some time away from the Tube.
So, to replace habit with habit, I returned to an old love, Book.
Ahhhh…breath of cool air. Mind engaged, room quiet (at least when twoyearold is napping), relaxing moments.
Silence with my thoughts.
Funny thing was, the more pages turned, the more I felt the need to write, to open the Word, and then write some more. Amazing. God was reading over my shoulder, and it was quiet enough to hear Him breathing.
New habits take about a month to stick…right? So I declare August my month of reading. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Anyone want to join in? Have a title I should check out?

A few thoughts…
First, this –> “God was reading over my shoulder, and it was quiet enough to hear Him breathing.” neerly brought me to teers. BEAUTIFUL!
Second, wish I would have read this before the weekend
but i was just feeling like I should unplug for a while and the rest of this month sounds like a good time to do it!
Third, I’m recommending Prodigal GOD to pretty much everyone. How would you feel about tackling a Francis Schoeffer title together? He’s a little too heavy/deep for me to NOT verbally process with someone but I’ve been looking forward to reading another of his works since I was introduced to his writing at school.
Fourth, have I told you lately how incredibley fabulous we think you are? You are regularly spoken of at Botsford Manor by girls who love and respoect you and who’s faces frankley GLOW with sincere admiration and affection for you. You truely shine Jesus in our lives and I thank you for that.
Love and Hugs and Prayers!
Thank-you for your kind words, friend.
I would love to tackle a good book with you. Just say the word and I’ll be off to the library to find it.
